This is a historical fact that is recognised throughout the world today. The first raw material used in papermaking was ragged hemp cloth, which was woven from hemp and ramie, both of which are native to China; the second was kozo bark, which is also native to China. A country papermaking, raw materials must be self-sufficient, and the raw materials used in China are native plants, almost everywhere in the north and south, inexhaustible. Why was papermaking invented only in China and not elsewhere? This question needs to be discussed, and I would like to express my opinion here.
